Ernakulam Psychiatric Society (EPS), in collaboration with the Ernakulam District Legal Services Authority (DELSA) and the NGO Maithri, is organizing a mental health awareness training program called Mind Our Mind in Ernakulam district. This initiative aims to raise mental health awareness and life skills education in the community through students.
Intended Audience:
A total of 1000 participants are expected to receive training over the three sessions, with approximately 350 participants attending each session.
As part of the initiative, a comprehensive handbook on mental health awareness has been released, sponsored and published by the Ernakulam Psychiatric Society. The handbook will serve as a valuable resource for both students and educators. Psychiatrists from the Ernakulam Psychiatric Society will deliver talks at each training session, focusing on two key topics each day:
1. Mental Illness
2. Intellectual Disabilities
The training sessions will take place across three locations, covering various taluks of Ernakulam district:
Muvattupuzha Court Complex – October 10, 2024
(For participants from Muvattupuzha, Kothamangalam, and Kunnathunad Taluks)
Aluva Town Hall – October 15, 2024
(For participants from Aluva and Paravur Taluks)
Ernakulam Corporation Town Hall – October 17, 2024
(For participants from Kanayannoor and Kochi Taluks)
Each session will be an opportunity for the intended audience to receive expert-led training on mental health and life skills, equipping them to serve as catalysts for mental health awareness in their schools and communities.
