The Ernakulam Psychiatric Society celebrated Onam 2023 with great enthusiasm and camaraderie at the BTH Bharath Hotel. Kochi on Sunday, 17th September 2023. The event was a resounding success, with over 60 attendees, including society members, their families, and post-graduate students, coming together in traditional attire to mark this joyous occasion.
The day was filled with traditional Onam festivities, including Thiruvathira and Pookalam decorations, creating a vibrant and cultural atmosphere. Members and their family showcased their talents with captivating performances that added an extra layer of festivity to the event. Various competitions were organized, and they witnessed active participation from the attendees. The spirit of healthy competition was palpable throughout the day.
Notable among the awards were the Best-Dressed prizes. Dr. T. V. Francis was honored as the best-dressed male, while Mrs. Annie Francis received the best-dressed female award. The son of Dr. Aparna Pratap and the daughter of Dr. Ariya Nair were also recognized for their attire. Dr. Chandrasekharan Nair won the prize for the 'Sundarikkaru pottuthodum' competition. The grand finale of the event was a sumptuous traditional Onasadya, where everyone savored the delicious Onam feast together, fostering a sense of togetherness and unity.
