The Ernakulam Psychiatric Society held its October 2023 monthly meeting at Hotel Avenue Regent, Kochi on 27 October. The scientific session was conducted by Dr. Varghese Punnoose, HOD, Department of Psychiatry, Govt. Medical College, Kottayam, focusing on Neuroglia and its importance in psychiatry and he also discussed potential treatment avenues in the future based on recent advancements in the understanding about Microglia and Macroglia. Dr. M. Chandrasekaran Nair, Consultant Psychiatrist at Nair’s Hospital, Kochi chaired the scientific session. There was active participation from the audience following the scientific session.
