Dr. Varghese P. Punnoose, Principal of Kottayam Medical College inaugurated the World Mental Health Day celebration held at the IMA House, Kochi on 10th October 2025 by the Ernakulam Psychiatric Society (EPS) in collaboration with the Kerala branch of the Indian Psychiatric Society (IPS) and the state branch of the Indian Medical Association (IMA).
Dr. Anoop Vincent, President of the Ernakulam Psychiatric Society and President of the IPS State Unit, presided over the function. IMA State President K.A. Srivilasan delivered the keynote address. Professor Dr. Ashok Antony, Department of Psychiatry, Sree Narayana Institute of Medical Sciences presented a paper on mental problems that occur during disasters and emergencies. IMA Mid Zone President Dr. K. Sudarshan, State President Elect Dr. M.N. Menon, IPS State Treasurer and EPS Secretary Dr. T.C. Vishnu, IMA Kochi President Dr. Atul Joseph Manuel, EPS Treasurer Dr. Aswin Krishnan Ajit also spoke on the occasion.
